ABOUT US

Wild Days Accommodation was started by the famous pirate ship bus, after friends and family loved staying there, it became apparent that it was an experience people really enjoyed.

We worked hard to create the family run business we have today, and hope that our guests get a feel for 'old-school' Waiheke.

Russell Duurloo

Russell moved to Waiheke in 1985 and discovered his love of brewing, which after much trial, error, and taste-testing, has turned into the Wild Days Rum we love today.

Charlie Robertson

Charlie grew up on Waiheke and, after travelling as a chef for 20 years, has settled back to pursue Wild Days Accommodation.

Sustainability

We care deeply about the environment and do everything we can to limit our carbon footprint. Hospitality is one of the most wasteful industries in the world, and we try not to contribute to this.

Some of the ways we achieve this is

  • Line drying all linen instead of tumble drying

  • Removing all single use products in favour of large bottles

  • Using eco-friendly cleaning products, which limit plastic use and harsh chemicals

  • Not throwing away equipment unless it's beyond repair (if something has a slight bit of damage in your room but is still completely functional, we wont replace it)

  • Planting as many native trees as we can

WHAT OUR GUESTS ARE SAYING

My daughter and I stayed in one of the units for 4 nights. They're beautiful and new with well thought out decor to suit the pirate theme. It contained everything we needed including Netflix which my daughter was very pleased about. The bed and bedding was very comfortable. Charlie was an amazing host and I can't wait to come back. Thank you Wild Days 😁
